Vizag Travels Journey

Vizag is also known as Vishakapatnam. It is in Andhra Pradesh, India. I recently went there and I want to tell you about the journey.

The starting - Room booking:

We booked a 3-night stay at a hotel called Konark Lodge.

You can check out the prices on the Travel websites and apps. We will be spending most of the day outside and only stay for the night. We went there on 24 October. It was a very old Lodge that was getting a remake, the ground, first and second floors were done but the third still needed floor design. The room looked premium with a TV and an AC but it was not very cold. In my home, we would shiver at 26 but here we shiver at 21, 18, or 19, not the coolest AC. The floors of the bathroom were slippery which was tough to go through but manageable, and the maintenance was not very good.

The Adventures Begin - Day 1 - Gone wrong:

We went to the RK Beach that same day but, it was crazy.

The waves were awesome to see but a little powerful. We stood there and the water was flowing through our legs, it was amazing. But then, a big wave came and we almost fell, our legs were submerged there. My mom was very scared. After that, another big wave came and my mom was so scared that she sat and we only took photos. The beach-to-ocean margins were very steep. Well, this is not the only beach we went to. After that, we ate outside, went to our room, and slept.

The Adventures Guide - Day 2:

The next day, we had a lot of things planned and we just could not ask for many autos so we booked a cab that would show the local sightseeing places. We ate breakfast and entered the car. The first place was:

Simhachalam:

It is a temple. We kept our bags, shoes, and mobiles the the counters and did the darshanam. There were tables to sit when the line was not moving and I saw a lot of kids standing on them. As a kid myself on a fun trip, I decided to stand on it too. The chairs were like individual bars that you would see on a window but closer, so I tried to do a one-bar tightrope but I could not balance. This was one of the temples that I liked because, it made waiting more fun, especially for kids. We took a photo from the photographers there, laminated and it looked amazing! I was the highlight even though I was in the corner of the photo. My watch looked amazing in the photo. We took the photo and I was excited of the next place:

Kailasigiri hill:

The hill journey was very shaky and I was feeling motion sickness but I could kind of bear it. The hill view was very beautiful, and there was a lot to explore. The main thing we wanted to do here was to ride the toy train. It would show the hill. But no one maintained it for a few days and we did not get a chance to ride it, at least we got good photos. Then we got some ice cream and chips and ate them while exploring. It was a place for photos. At least something was better there.

The Cable Ropeway at Kailasigiri:

A cable Ropeway was leading down and up. We decided to go down. It was amazing, I mean I felt a little scared at first because I was scared of heights and I thought it was going to go I little fast at first but eventually settled. This next place was my favorite of them all!

Rushikonda Beach:

This beach was close to the downwards ropeway so we went there and this beach is way better than RK Beach. The water is not deep at all, and this made my mom lose the fear she had for beaches, well only for this one. We found a photographer and we took some very stunning photos in the sun(photos not shown due to privacy reasons.) We stayed there and played for an hour! After getting our clothes wet, we ate lunch at a restaurant close to the beach and went to the next place:

Tenneti Park:

In this park, there was a Bangladesh ship At the side of the Tenneti beach. We didn't go all the way there because it was very far. We just took some photos from afar.

Local Sightseeing in RK Beach:

Visakha Museum:

It had history, old models, and archeology related to aircraft, suits of captains and soldiers, submarines, etc. It was very fun to see. There was also a big submarine outside to take photos.

Heritage Museum - Part of Visakha Museum:

There was another museum that was a part of the Visaka Museum called "Heritage Museum". It was basically the same about archeology, history, etc. but this is about Indian gods, India History, coins of old ages, old furniture and items, etc.

Submarine Museum:

There was a big submarine and we had to go inside it and see its components in how it worked. It is a
real submarine used in a war called "Kursura". It was stunning to see how many components are needed to build a submarine. It would take a lot of time. You can understand if you go there.

Aircraft Museum:

It is basically the same thing, but this time before we enter the plane, we see the history and weapons used in the aircraft. There was one shadow art involving one flying eagle. It was crazy. Then the fun part came, ENTERING THE PLANE!
It was crazy how many components are needed to build a transportation vehicle, I was fascinated.

Fish Harbour:

After seeing all the Museum Masterpieces we went to the fish harbour to see how they catch fish and what they do. It was crazy, there were many ships there and some in the ocean of RK Beach catching fish, there were a lot of fish of different sizes getting dried in the sun, I mean we went in the evening but they were still getting dried. There were also markets next to it selling fish and crabs. It smelled like fish there.
All the dried fish were exported to other countries with the help of ships. There were a lot of ships parked there.

Matsyadarshini(Fish Museum):

It was a very small fish museum but still with very big and small fish, and turtles. It was not even more than 10 minutes, it was less than that. Really do not recommend, a waste of money.

And that concludes Day 2, a very big adventure We went to our room and slept. This next place is very far and long to just reach it.

Borra Caves - Day 3:

Borra caves were 3 hours from Vizag, it is located in Araku. Luckily last night we found a special train which goes there, or was it really lucky?
We went inside the train and it made us wait an hour before it would go. But then, the train stopped and it was going reverse then front slowly and it was repeating that for an hour, it was like struggling to go, maybe there was no fuel or something. I was about to cry. Then, finally at 2p.m. We made it. It was a 4-hour journey. People recommended the train because there were 40 caves to go through while going to the Borra Caves. But this train ride was not fun at all. But at last we made it.  The Borra caves was 1.5 km from where we were dropped off, there were a few restaurants on the way so we ate there and continued. We eventually got there and it looked very cool, there were a lot of lights to show the cave's structure and it was very deep, we took a couple of photos from the photographers and also filled my dad's phone. It is mainly a tourist place for photos. Then came the bus ride.
The bus came and we boarded it. I was very tired so I tried to take a small nap but the bus was very shaky and bumpy and when a speed breaker came, it launched us up. I was getting motion sickness at that point and my jaw felt like it was gonna break in half. Very uncomfortable. At last, we came back, ate dinner, and planned our leave.

After that on the 27th of October at 6 a.m., we boarded a train all the way back to our house, it was a 12-hour journey. And I was back to Home Sweet Home. This was the biggest trip we have ever been to, my family rarely goes on any trip like this.

In conclusion, there are a lot of places to explore here, definitely recommend going here. Hope you like this post about my trip and hopefully it made you decide to go here or not. And remember, this is my opinion. Hope you like this and my future blogs!
